The Backstory: When Ben and Brodi first came to me for the wiring and electrical fitting of their new dream home, I knew I was in for an exciting and challenging task. With her flair for design and eye for detail, I could see that Brodi would settle for no less than her vision: functional yet inviting, chic but without too much fuss. One thing was for certain: the pressure was on. Luckily, I always enjoy a good challenge.
The Task: Complete electrical rough in of their brand new farmhouse and setup of various electrical amenities
The Approach: The electrical wiring and fitting in Ben and Brodi’s new dream home was going to be a critical piece of the puzzle. Proper fitting and wiring affects the functionality of some of their key living spaces, including the kitchen and the living room.
We approached the fitting by focusing not only on how they envisioned the house looking, but also on how they plan to use it on a day-to-day basis. After all, that is the beauty of a new build – getting to make those important decisions on your own terms.
Considering Ben and Brodi planned to use their home in multiple ways—as their main living space and as a home-office—we mapped out their big picture needs like underground mains wiring and then narrowed down to the finer details like accessibility to internet, Foxtel and audio-visual capabilities.
We started with new underground mains wiring of over 70 meters. When our job was complete, Ben and Brodi’s new farmhouse had fully functional kitchen appliances, hot water, beautiful custom lighting, slimline power points, wall hung televisions, and ultramodern customized elements like a USB wall charger, telephone, and data points for the home office.
The Result: A customized, ultra-functional, beautiful and inviting space with just the right amount of whimsy
