Why do you need exit and emergency lighting?
In the light of day, exit and emergency lighting can be easy to ignore, but in the dark – and in buildings with low natural light – it becomes a critical safety consideration, particularly in cases when emergencies lead to the loss of electricity. When kept in good working condition, the batteries in each light will be sufficient to provide at least 90 minutes of light after power failure, giving those inside the building enough time to find the exit doors and make it out.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”2_5″ _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_image src=”https://byrdelectrical.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/exit-images.png” title_text=”exit-images” _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” animation_style=”slide” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ module_class=”serv-section serv-section-sub” _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”19.5px||19.5px||true|false” collapsed=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row column_structure=”2_5,3_5″ make_equal=”on” module_class=”h-tags” _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” width=”100%” max_width=”100%” custom_padding=”||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”2_5″ module_class=”serv-section-left” _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_image src=”https://byrdelectrical.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/emergency-images.png” title_text=”emergency-images” _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” animation_style=”slide” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”3_5″ module_class=”serv-section-right” _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text admin_label=”Content” _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”Gilmer Med||||||||” text_text_color=”#000000″ text_font_size=”18px” text_line_height=”28px” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_font_size=”50px” header_2_line_height=”60px” header_3_text_color=”#02383c” header_3_font_size=”40px” min_height=”300px” custom_margin=”||39px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]
What’s the process for exit and emergency light testing?
Testing exit and emergency lights is as simple as pressing the “push to test” button on the casing and timing the light for 90 minutes to ensure that it stays on. However, this is not a process you can DIY – under the National Construction Code, you must have a licensed electrician install your lights and test them every six months. To maximise the lifespan of your device, fittings in the system should also be inspected and cleaned on an annual basis.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”19.5px||77px||false|false” collapsed=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ make_equal=”on” module_class=”h-tags” _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text admin_label=”Content” module_class=”sub-tags-up” _builder_version=”4.17.3″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”Gilmer Med||||||||” text_text_color=”#000000″ text_font_size=”18px” text_line_height=”28px” header_2_text_align=”center” header_2_font_size=”50px” header_2_line_height=”60px” header_3_text_color=”#02383c” header_3_font_size=”40px” max_width=”688px” custom_padding=”60px||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]
